Andy is an AR/VR entrepreneur, business executive, advisor and consultant with a passion to thrive on new business ideas and technology innovation, particularly in the field of spatial computing also known as XR (Augmented, Mixed and Virtual Reality). He is a German-born global citizen with more than 20 years of strategic management, international business development and marketing experience with AOL Time Warner, Lonely Planet / BBC Worldwide and Electronic Arts while living in Asia for 6 years, in the US for 8 years and back in Europe where he has been based with his family since 2010. Convinced that XR will transform many aspects of our lives, Andy has been shaping the mobile mixed reality industry since its inception more than a decade ago. After launching the world's first mobile augmented reality city guides with Lonely Planet in 2008, he has been dedicated to building AR technology pioneer Wikitude as CMO from 2010-2017. Most recently, as CEO & founder of Mixed-Reality I/O he is working with selected clients & partners in addition to a few "Startup Advisor" engagements. Andy is usually splitting most of his time between Europe and Silicon Valley, however, due to COVID-19 AR/VR meeting platforms are currently the place to be. Andy has published multiple articles on the topics of AR / MR / VR on TechCrunch, Engadget and The Next Web (TNW). Andy holds an MBA from Hawaii Pacific University.
